Subject: Facebook announce OAUTH2.0 for XMPP
Please have a look at http://developers.facebook.com/blog/post/555/

When using the X_PLATFORM_FACEBOOK, does the current SaslProperties facebook class support this?
Do I need to create a new 'properties' class to conform to the new fields? If so, can you show what needs to be done?

(using the chat with the access token is a great improvement for us, because now we need to login with the old REST api separately to retrieve session key, etc)

Thanks a lot

this needs internal changes in MatriX. I put this on my TODO list.

Thanks for your reply.

If I understand correctly, all clients must be ready on October 1st.

Could you estimate when you'll be able to ship this?

Thank you

With the new changes you do not need to use the session_key and sig parameters anymore and instead should use the access_token parameter which takes the access_token obtained when the user logs into Facebook with the xmpp_login extended permission. Note that this needs to be over SSL or you will get an error.

I see no MUST in the text. To me it sounds like it is optional or recommended, but not mandatory.
I have just uploaded a new binary to to the latest builds. Please let me know if this works for you.

It's working :-)

Am I allowed to use it right away?

Kudos for the quickness!

When your support & maintenace is expired then the latest dll wouldn't work.
When you are still in evaluation then you are of course allowed to evaluate always the latest binary.
